About Us
You could say Karen and I started this journey in 2018 when we first became friends. But really this is only our second year putting on this retreat for you. Karin, (...yes im pretty sure this was all your idea, Karin) had a desire create and oportunity for peaople to CREATE, CONNECT & REST, to come together to escape the busy, mundane or chaotic routine of our daily life! What an amazing idea! So together we stratagizedand came up with this idea to set aside some time and space to acheive this... We felt that there were many others who could use this opportunity as well.
Karin Edwards is a wife, mother, and is passionate about painting and people. She has decided to focus this season of her life on creating on canvas from different landscapes to the endless ideas that come to her mind. As a former competitive skier and athlete, she understands the dedication and commitment to get things done. She also understands the value of family and how important that role is in life. It was when her children were little that a coffee with her brother led to a conversation about different roles and stages of life. This brought her to where she is now, focused on bringing real beauty to spaces and connecting with people through art and painting on a foundation of faith in Jesus.
I, Rylee, have been passionate about Pottery and all things pertaining to clay for many years but with the help of my supportive husband, three boys and my faith in God as my CEO, I began preparing and teaching for a studio in 2011. Things started in the Calgary area and took off and became my own in the growing town of Airdrie. It moved around until we settled on our beautiful property east of Crossfield. With a passion for turning mud into functional art and my desire to share the joy of creating pottery, I began teaching and demonstrating both on and off the wheel, forming mugs, bowls, platters; vessels that are artistic in design and useful in function. Really, I just want to create a space for others to celebrate and experience clay.
